Eurotech: 1.2m order for a supercomputer based on the Aurora architecture

Amaro (Italy), July 28, 2009 Eurotech announces that it has received an order valued at 1.2 M for a supercomputer based on the new HPC (High Performance Computing) architecture developed by Eurotech, named Aurora. Thanks to its scalability, the Aurora architecture allows to build computers with a computing power ranging from TeraFlops (thousands of billions of operations per second) up to PetaFlops (millions of billions of operations per second).
The order materialized just one month after the great success obtained by the innovative Aurora platform at the International Supercomputer Conference (ISC) 2009, which took place in Hamburg between the 23rd and the 26th of June. Any further details about the order have not been disclosed.
