Agreement with Selex Communications for wearable computers

Amaro (UD), 15 February 2007

Eurotech and Selex Communications, a Finmeccanica company, announce that they have signed a commercial agreement for wearable computers.
The multi-year agreement enables Selex Communications to sell Eurotech's Zypad wearable computers internationally via its own sales organisation.
Thanks to Selex Communications' capabilities in telecommunications and application software networks, the Zypad wearable computers will be made available on the defence, security, energy and transport markets in ready-to-use solutions with high added value for the end user.
As part of the same agreement, Selex Communications has chosen Eurotech as preferred supplier of the underlying technology for belt-mounted wearable computers ("Soldier of the Future" project); and Eurotech has chosen Selex Communications as exclusive partner to sell wearable computers to companies in the Finmeccanica Group and, in Italy, to customers in the Defence sector and in the Police, Fire, Carabinieri (a police force attached to the Italian army), Guardia di Finanza (a police force attached to the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance) and Prison services.
This agreement is the first to come out of the partnership agreement signed on 28 July 2006 between Eurotech and Finmeccanica Group.

Part of the Finmeccanica Group, operating in the sector of telecommunications devices and systems production, aimed in particular at the defence and security markets, with a recognised multinational commercial and industrial presence.
