Eurotech becomes part of the United Nations Global Compact

Amaro (Italy), November 27, 2009 – Eurotech, a leading supplier of technologies, products and embedded systems, has announced that it has joined the United Nations Global Compact, a strategic/political initiative for companies committed to ensuring the development of markets, commerce, economies and the financial sector to provide economic and social benefits throughout the world. The initiative is based on commitment to 10 fundamental principles to be enacted in primary areas, such as respect for human rights, work, the environment and the fight against corruption.
Designed to be an initiative that involves both private and public entities, the United Nations Global Compact is the largest sustainability and "corporate citizenship" initiative in the world. The Global Compact includes all socially relevant entities: businesses, governments, labour organisations, civil institutions and, naturally, the United Nations.

"We are proud to be a part of this prestigious association of public entities and businesses around the world” – declared the President and Chief Executive Officer of Eurotech, Roberto Siagri. "Eurotech is once again at the forefront, defending and promoting the fundamental principles we firmly believe in, and which we have always applied within our companies. Respect for people and their dignity, full respect for legality and protection of the environment are in our view inalienable values. While seeking growth and innovation, we also pay careful attention to the promotion of quality of life, in all of its forms. We are also extremely attentive to the habitat in which we work: it is not by chance that our technologies are designed and constructed to have the least possible environmental impact, making sure that "smart & green" is not only an idea, but a reality."

Digital technologies for a better world is the mission of this international group with an Italian heart, which for a long time has been explaining to companies, the public and investors that it is necessary, as well as possible, to make the real world that surrounds us more intelligent thanks to miniature computers, actually reducing consumption and polluting emissions.

The United Nations Global Compact today counts 6700 participants, including 5200 companies spread throughout over 130 nations. Eurotech is the first industrial company of Udine to take part in the initiative.
