Eurotech awarded $2.5m contract from medical device customer for FDA-approved design

Amaro (Italy), October 7th, 2009 – Eurotech, a leading provider of embedded products and technologies, today announced that it has received an order from a medical diagnostics company. The new contract has a total value of 2.5 million USD and is based on Eurotech’s BitsyXb embedded single board computer. This computing engine will be included in two devices: a redesigned surgical diagnostics tool and a critical life-support instrument. The surgical diagnostics tool has been recently certified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). 

Eurotech was chosen for this contract as it conducted all the product testing, configuration and documentation necessary to pass stringent medical inspection standards. This assistance allowed the medical diagnostics company to receive a quality, turn-key embedded solution without enduring the costly process of product testing. In addition, Eurotech will be providing long-term product support to ensure high-quality results and extended value.
