The Catalyst EC ICE is an industrial enclosure for the Catalyst Processor and EC Baseboard. This combination is ideal for remote telematic and wireless data acquisition/routing applications. Its rugged construction enables it to operate within most environments and its two-piece aluminium construction offers a fully CE compliant ready-to-go solution.
CPU
The Catalyst EC ICE provides all the benefits of Intel's Atom™ architecture in a rugged enclosure; comprising of a processor module and carrier board. Using Intel's Hi-K 45nm technology the Intel Atom Z5xx™ series processor delivers the benefits of Intel's x86 architecture in a robust, ultra-small package with exceptional performance-perwatt.
Running at 1.1GHz or 1.6GHz, the system offers high-performance x86 compatibility in a fanless enclosure, requiring only a fraction of the power previously needed for comparable systems.
Chipset
The processor is matched with an Intel System Controller Hub (SCH) US15W™ which is a highly integrated device combining a graphics memory controller and an I/O controller.
Operating Systems
Catalyst EC ICE is compatible with all major desktop operating systems, and is also available with pre-installed, ready to run, embedded operating systems including Windows XP®, XP Embedded®, and embedded Linux®.

A full range of on board peripherals are provided including 4 x USB 2.0 ports, VGA, HD-Audio, RS232, Ethernet and IDE. Expansion requirements are covered by a PCI Express MiniCard, offering the latest wireless technology.
