Amaro (Ud-Italy) July 22, 2005
- The shareholders of Eurotech Spa approved today, in an extraordinary meeting, an increase of capital for a maximum of 9.000.000 new shares, at the nominal value of 0,25 each, to be placed for public offering at the Italian stock exchange (Techstar segment) under the supervision and control of Borsa Italiana SpA.
The shareholders also appointed two independent members of the board of directors: Mrs Caterina Belletti, lawyer and professor of private law at the university of Trieste, and Mr Alberto Felice De Toni, professor of company management at the university of Udine.
The project of market quotation has been unanimously approved in June 2005, and the target is admission to the Techstar segment within the end of the year 2005. Advisors for the company's IPO are Mediobanca (sponsor, global coordinator and responsible for the IPO placing) and Interbanca (financial advisor).
Says Roberto Siagri, president and co-founder of Eurotech: From the very beginning, we have proved that an Italian company can achieve a considerable growth rate in the high technology market; our undertaking has always been rooted in scientific research and innovation. According to Mr Siagri, the quotation of Eurotech represents a very important step for our group: new resources will give us the opportunity to go on with our development plans and strengthen our leadership in the market of invisible computers.
According to Mr Riccardo Illy, governor of the region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the Eurotech group shows that our region, thanks to individual projects but also to local politics sustaining research and innovation, is today an ideal place for the creation and development of companies based on scientific know-how and high technology.
