- Eurotech Inc., a leading provider of application-ready embedded computer systems, announces the win of two contracts with a combined valued of over $2.5 million. Eurotech will be supplying embedded computer systems to the two customers who are building embedded applications in handicap-assisted voting machines and golf management.
Automark III is the third generation of Eurotech’s Automark design, made specifically for electronic voting terminals, and is based on the Intel IXP465 processor. Automark has been used by other customers to provide voter assisted terminals for the disabled. This new contract for handicap-assisted voting machines will be the latest in a series of wins.
The golf management application uses the Shark embedded system. Shark is a derivative of Eurotech’s BitsyXb product based on the Marvell PXA270 processor. BitsyXb is a popular Eurotech product, used in several markets such as medical and transportation. Low power consumption and efficient power management were key factors in the customer’s decision to choose the Shark system for this golf management application
“This is exciting news for Eurotech,” says Greg Nicoloso, CEO of Eurotech Inc. “These two orders exemplify Eurotech’s presence in a broad range of embedded markets. Our commitment to providing the right embedded solution to our customers is critical to our continued success in the embedded market and in winning contracts such as these.”
Eurotech Inc. is a six-time winner of the Independent Hardware Vendor Excellence Award from Microsoft, and a contributor to the Debian Open Source community. The BitsyXb is based on the Marvell PXA270 processor and the Bitsy G5 is based on the Freescale i.MX31 processor.
